Epiphone

Epiphone Broadway

The Epiphone Broadway, sibling to the Emperor Regent, is a gorgeous jumbo hollowbody archtop which has gold hardware, a Frequensator tailpiece and a pair of humbuckers. Each humbucker has a tone and volume control and there’s also a three-way pick-up selector.

The laminated maple body is topped in select spruce and the set maple neck has a rosewood fretboard with block and triangle inlays.

Epiphone Broadway

The Epiphone Broadway and fat body archtops like it have been a staple in jazz and be bop for over half a century. But the warm lush tones have also been employed by the likes of Elvis Costello, Pete Townhsend and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

In a review of the Broadway in 1998, Guitar Shop magazine said ‘if you want to get into the archtop vibe on a budget and dont want to play a piece of crap, this guitar fits the bill nicely. It’s also a great looker’

Reviews on Harmony Central too, are glowing with user, Ed Yardley typical: ‘I have to honestly say, in my opinion, that the Broadway rivals Epiphones own “Elitist” series, and certainly the Gibson stuff. it is a noticeable step above the Ibanez Artcore series in sound and build/material quality …I am extremely pleased with this instrument and am looking forward to many years of enjoyment from it. Well done, Epiphone.’
